What is Chineasy and why is Chineasy unique?

Chineasy is a method of learning Chinese that I originally created for my British-born children. Based on the idea of building blocks, Chineasy breaks down the most essential Chinese characters into their fundamental components, transforming each character into a colorful, intuitive illustration. As learners begin to recognize the illustrated characters, they instinctively start putting them together to create new words, phrases, and sentences! Before they know it, they’ve progressed from passively recognizing a few simple characters to building up a rich active vocabulary. This is the magic of the Chineasy method!
