Does the Chineasy app use simplified or traditional characters?

You can choose to study either simplified or traditional Chinese. Just tap on the Chineasy mascot icon Bao in the top left-hand corner of the screen and then go to Settings. Then you'll see the two options: Simplified and Traditional. Select the one you’d like to learn.
